CONAX and LICA renting SAS project

Company LICA s.r.o. is a trade company active in delievery of CATV technology including its support and integration. As integrator Lica has experience with proven concept of delivery and operation of DVB-C and DVB-T headends cooperating with Conax scrambling system. The described project is enabling smaller operators to share the capacity of Conax SAS server among more operators and this way saving initial cost for strong and proven scrambling system.

There are three options available. Each option was developed in order to fit into different demand on safety and security of the scrambling:

Option 1 menas renting Conax SAS server and renting EMM/ECM server as well. In this case customer can save initial investment into both servers and can start protecting his delivered content by only integrating multiplexor being used. LICA has experience with many types of multiplexors and can help customer with such integration as well. Operator doesn´t need to take care of SAS server operation. His access into database is made via secured interface using on-line VPN. There is also strong protection of stored data against possible loss or unathorized access.

Option 2 is renting Conax SAS server and purchasing EMM/ECM server. This solution is more costly but also more robust in comparison with above one. EMM/ECM is typically next to the multiplexor and its connection with SAS is done via secured VPN. Again this solution saves costs for SAS server and enables operator to access database remotely. Also costs for SAS maintenance is lower due to the fact, that operation of SAS is done by renting company and support paid is much smaller for particular user. Obviously, protection of stored data is included in contract with each operator.

Option 3 means, that operator still decides to purchase whole system (SAS and EMM/ECM) but he would like to offer it to more users. In this case LICA can offer turn key installation of the entire system including setting up more user concept. Lica can also offer support for all possible problems which might occure during operation of such complex problem.

In all three options we offer CONAX CAS7 with chipset or memory pairing. Lica can also offer delivery of DVB-C Set Top Boxes portfolio.
